Social media isn’t meant to substitute for in-person meetings or other events, but it’s an extra arrow to your arsenal for a significant business improvement! Let’s talk about the most typical scenarios that lenders face and the reasons why having an online presence is so important.
A realtor suggests many potential lenders for their prospective buyer. The modern buyer isn’t stepping into your office for a chat. They’re using the internet to inform them about you! They’re conducting a digital test to determine whether you’re credible and reliable when they click the search button using your name. Are you interested in how your digital resume appears?
Google “loan officer” and the city and your state:
Do you appear at the top of the list of lenders with reviews, or must you scroll down to locate your name? What is your competition’s name? It is an absolute must if you don’t have an official Google website for your business.
Find your complete name on Google.
What is it that appears? Are your educational videos on YouTube appear? Do Googlers get to see Instagram posts where you volunteer in the shelter for animals or coach your child’s soccer match? All social media platforms, websites, podcasts, and articles are listed under Google. Google is a single source for anyone who wants to find one for you.
Although we are aware of the potential social media offers and the potential of a digital resume, many people fear posting due to a lack of knowledge about how to begin. Let me offer you a few tips to help you get started.
Try the pillar challenge!
Begin with three material pillars explaining what you do and who you are. Develop topics that are pillar-related to these and then use them across your posts. A good illustration of one such pillar might be a first-time homebuyer. There are many topics you can talk about under this! Pillars can be personal as well. You could share your most loved hobbies, your love for dogs, the tasks you perform or your passion for DIY. Making material that reflects your personal qualities lets your followers see your personality and engage in meaningful conversations. If you publish mortgage tips or other advice you focus on providing; they will know that material within the context of what drives you every day and what you stand for as an individual.
Think about the questions you are asked as an entrepreneur. We work all day long, and we live and breathe mortgage. Your future client does not. What questions surprise you? What do you wish your customers were aware of to look for or to stay clear of? This is the guideline for creating material.
Cut it down to the 3rd-grade level.
There’s a lot of information in the media, and most of the information presented is overwhelmingly negative. Your clients require you to offer them advice in plain language. When you read mortgage-related articles or information, break it down into simple phrases. Learn and empower yourself with this material. Convinced buyers will make more confident offers!
It’s not only your material that initiates conversations. It’s other material that allows conversations to occur as well! Have you been together on your platforms to interact, or are you browsing through other’s posts and sometimes liking their posts? Have you ever had someone leave a comment or share your post? It’s a feeling of joy! It’s a feeling of gratitude! Because they are lost in the process of likes. You may reciprocate the people who’ve shown your virtual support by sharing their content. There are a myriad of ways to build more intimate online relationships.
Here are some ideas for engagement:
- Send a message to someone who wrote an article that inspired you.
- Send a reel of educational material to a friend and shout them out to your viewers.
- Send an audio file to someone else and explain why they’d be interested in the content.
- Write thoughtful comments or ask questions regarding a recent excursion someone has shared online.
- Send an audio message to a person you know on the day of their birthday instead of posting the typical birthday greeting on their Facebook wall.
- Find a meaningful phrase to inspire people online. You’ll be amazed by the payoff when you start to take an interest in other people!
- Digital media have helped break down the boundaries of geography and allow us to connect with everyone anywhere on Earth in ways that we could previously only do in person.
- It’s impossible to predict when a new friendship will begin or if you’ll get your most important customer or referral source!
